When to recite Durood Ibrahim?

Hadith Reference: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold, and will erase ten of his sins, and will raise him in status by ten degrees.” (Sahih Muslim 408)

Sheikh Musa’s Miraculous Experience

Allama Fakhani, in Qamar Munir, narrated an incident from a pious elder, Sheikh Musa. He recounted that they were traveling with a caravan on a sea voyage when their ship was caught in a severe storm. The storm became a divine wrath, shaking the ship violently. We were convinced that the ship would sink within moments, and we would perish, as even the sailors believed that only a fortunate ship could survive such a fierce storm.

Sheikh Musa stated that in this chaotic situation, he fell asleep. In a brief moment of slumber, he saw the radiant Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) appear and instruct him to recite this Darood 2000 times with his companions. He woke up, gathered his friends, performed ablution, and started reciting the blessed Darood. After reciting it 300 times, the storm began to subside, gradually coming to a complete halt. In a short while, the sky cleared, and the sea became calm. By the blessings of this Darood, everyone on the ship was saved.

Guidance from Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam (RA)

This blessed Darood is named Tanjeena, and it has immense virtues. Pious scholars have tested it repeatedly. Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam (RA) mentioned that a person who was in severe difficulty performed ablution, applied perfume, and began reciting Darood-e-Tanjeena, and his problem was resolved. Whoever recites this Darood respectfully, facing the Qibla, 300 times daily, Allah will solve even their most severe difficulties by His grace.

  • Among the virtues of Darood-e-Tanjeena is that a person who desires to see the Holy Prophet (PBUH) should recite this Darood with pure intentions, 1000 times after Isha prayer, and sleep in a perfumed bed with ablution. Insha Allah, within 40 days, they will have the honor of seeing the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and if Allah wills, they might even see the Prophet within a week.
  • This Darood has numerous other virtues. A pious elder stated that whoever recites Darood-e-Tanjeena 10 times in the morning and 10 times in the evening will gain Allah’s pleasure, be saved from His wrath, be protected from evils, and their sorrows will vanish.
  • Another virtue of this Darood is that anyone suffering from an illness and has become disheartened by doctors and healers should recite this blessed Darood abundantly. Insha Allah, they will be relieved of their illness.

درودِ تنجینا سے مراد وہ درود شریف ہے جس کے پڑھنے سے ہر مشکل اور مہم سے نجات ملتی ہے۔

علامہ فاخانی نے قمر منیر میں ایک بزرگ شیخ موسیٰ کا واقعہ بیان کیا ہے کہ انہوں نے بتایا کہ ہم ایک قافلے کے ساتھ ایک بحری جہاز میں سفر کر رہے تھے کہ جہاز طوفان کی زد میں آگیا۔ یہ طوفان قہر خدواندی بن کر جہاز کو ہلانے لگا۔ ہم لوگ یقین کر بیٹھے کہ چند لمحوں کے بعد جہاز ڈوب جائے گا اور ہم لقمہ اجل بن جائیں گے کیونکہ ملاحوں نے بھی یہ سمجھ لیا تھا کہ اتنے تند و تیز طوفان سے کوئی خوش قسمت والا جہاز ہی بچتا ہے۔

شیخ فرماتے ہیں اس عالمِ افراتفری میں مجھ پر نیند کا غلبہ ہو گیا۔ چند لمحے غنودگی طاری ہوئی۔ میں نے دیکھا کہ ماہِ بطحا حضرت محمد (ﷺ) تشریف لائے اور مجھے حکم دیا کہ تم اور تمہارے ساتھی یہ درود 2000 بار پڑھو۔ میں بیدار ہوا، اپنے دوستوں کو جمع کیا، وضو کیا اور درود پاک پڑھنا شروع کر دیا۔ ابھی ہم نے 300 بار درود پاک پڑھا تھا کہ طوفان کا زور کم ہونے لگا۔ آہستہ آہستہ طوفان رک گیا اور تھوڑے ہی وقت میں آسمان صاف ہو گیا اور سمندر کی سطح پر امن ہو گئی۔ اس درود پاک کی برکت سے تمام جہاز والوں کو نجات مل گئی۔

اس درود پاک کا نام تنجینا رکھا گیا۔ اس کے بے پناہ فضائل ہیں اور بزرگانِ دین نے بار بار مرتبہ آزمایا ہے۔ جناب غوث اعظم (رح) نے فرمایا کہ ایک شخص نہایت مشکل میں گرفتار ہو گیا۔ اس نے وضو کر کے معطر درودِ تنجینا پڑھنا شروع کیا تو مشکل حل ہو گئی۔ اس درود پاک کو جو شخص ادب و احترام سے قبلہ رخ ہو کر ہر روز 300 بار پڑھے گا، اللہ کے فضل سے اس کی سخت سے سخت مشکل حل ہو جائے گی۔

 درودِ تنجینا کے فضائل میں سے یہ بھی ہے کہ جس شخص کو نبی کریم (ﷺ) کی زیارت کا شوق ہو وہ خالص نیت سے درودِ تنجینا پڑھے اور بعد نمازِ عشاء 1000 بار پورا کرے اور بستر کو معطر (خوشبودار) کر کے باوضو ہی سو جائے۔ ان شاء اللہ 40 روز کے اندر اندر ہی زیارتِ رسولِ کریم (ﷺ) ہو گی۔ اگر اللہ کرم کرے تو ایک ہفتے میں نبی کریم (ﷺ) کی زیارت ہو جائے۔

اس درودِ پاک کے اور بھی بہت سے فضائل ہیں۔ ایک بزرگ کا کہنا ہے کہ جو شخص اس درودِ تنجینا کو صبح و شام 10، 10 بار پڑھے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس سے راضی ہو جائے گا اور اللہ کے قہر سے نجات ملے گی۔ اللہ تعالیٰ اسے برائیوں سے محفوظ رکھے گا اور اس کے غم مٹ جائیں گے۔

اس درودِ تنجینا کی فضیلت یہ بھی ہے کہ جو شخص بیماری سے تنگ آ کر طبیبوں اور ڈاکٹروں سے مایوس ہو گیا ہو، اسے چاہیے کہ اس درودِ پاک کو کثرت سے پڑھے۔ ان شاء اللہ بیماری کی تکلیف سے نجات ملے گی۔

O Allah, send prayers upon our master and patron Muhammad, the possessor of the crown, the Miʿraj, the Buraq, and the flag, the repeller of hardships, epidemics, droughts, diseases, and pain. His name is written, exalted, combined, and engraved upon the tablet and pen. The master of both Arabs and non-Arabs, whose body is sanctified, fragrant, pure, and illuminated in the House and the Sanctuary. He is the bright sun, the full moon of the dark night, the foremost in loftiness, the light of guidance, the cave of refuge for humanity, the lantern in the darkness. He is of beautiful character, the intercessor for nations, the possessor of graciousness and generosity, Allah is his protector, Gabriel his servant, the Buraq his mount, the Mi’raj his voyage, the Lote Tree of the Uppermost Limit his station, two bows’ length or nearer the object of his quest, that which is sought is that which he desires, and that which he desires is that which he finds. He is the master of the Messengers, the Seal of the Prophets, the intercessor of sinners, the comforter of strangers, the mercy for the worlds, the delight of divine lovers, the object of yearning, the sun of the gnostics, the lamp for travelers upon the path to Allah, the lantern of those brought near, the lover of the poor,  the strangers and the destitute, the master of the two weighty things (humans and Jinn), the Prophet of the two sanctuaries, the Imam of the two Qiblas, our means of salvation in both abodes, the one at two bows length, the beloved of the Lord of the two Easts and the two Wests, the grandfather of Imam Hasan and Imam Husayn, our protector and the protector of the two worlds, the Father of Qasim, Muhammad, the son of Abdullah, a light from the lights of Allah, O you who yearns for the light of his beauty, invoke abundant blessings and peace upon him, his family and Companions.
