What is Duroode Ibrahimi?

Duroode Ibrahimi is a specific form of prayer (Slat) upon the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family, commonly recited by Muslims around the world. It is a part of the daily prayers (Salah) and other supplications.

Duroode Ibrahimi English Translation

O Allah, send your mercy upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent your mercy upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, you are Praiseworthy and Glorious.

O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as you blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, you are Praiseworthy and Glorious.

When to recite Durood Ibrahim?

In Salah: Duroode Ibrahimi is recited during the last sitting (Tashahhud) of the obligatory Salah, right before concluding the prayer with “Salam.

Other Occasions: It is also recited in various other supplications, and many Muslims include it in their daily prayers and invocations.

1. Tenfold Blessings from Allah

Every time a person recites Duroode Pak, Allah sends ten blessings upon them.

Hadith Reference: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold, and will erase ten of his sins, and will raise him in status by ten degrees.” (Sahih Muslim 408)

2. Forgiveness of Sins

Reciting Duroode Pak is a means of seeking forgiveness from Allah. Each recitation brings the erasure of sins and increases one’s rank in the sight of Allah.

Hadith Reference: In the same Hadith mentioned above (Sahih Muslim 408), the Prophet (PBUH) notes that in addition to receiving ten blessings, ten of the person’s sins are erased, and their status is elevated.

Hadith Reference: Ubayy ibn Ka’b (RA) narrated that a man said to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), “I will dedicate all my supplications for you.” The Prophet (PBUH) replied, Then your worries will be taken care of, and your sins will be forgiven.

7. Angels Pray for the Reciter

When a person recites Duroode Pak, the angels pray for that person and seek forgiveness for them.

Hadith Reference: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “There is no Muslim who sends blessings upon me, except that the angels send blessings upon him as long as he sends blessings upon me. So, let a person do a little of that or a lot.” (Ibn Majah 907)
